Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about DTF transfers and ordering from dtf.market.
Ordering & Products
What is a DTF transfer?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) is a printing method where designs are printed on a special film and then heat-pressed onto fabric. The result is a vibrant, durable, full-color print that feels soft and lasts through many washes. DTF transfers work on cotton, polyester, blends, and many other fabrics.
How do I apply a DTF transfer?
You will need a heat press (or a household iron in a pinch). Place the transfer on your garment, apply heat at 280-300°F (140-150°C) for 6-10 seconds with medium-firm pressure, then instantly peel. Full instructions are included with every order.
What products can I print DTF transfers on?
DTF transfers work on t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, hats, jeans, and virtually any fabric item. They adhere to cotton, polyester, nylon, denim, and blended materials.
What is a gang sheet?
A gang sheet is a custom layout where you arrange multiple designs on a single transfer sheet to maximize your space and save money. You can use our drag-and-drop builder at dtf.market/gang-sheets to create your own layouts.
Can I order just the transfer without a product?
Yes! You can order transfers only and apply them yourself. Many of our customers are small business owners, crafters, and print shops who buy transfers to apply to their own products.

Selling on dtf.market
How do I become a vendor?
Sign up at dtf.market/register/vendor. Once approved, you can upload your designs, set your prices, and start earning. We handle all printing, shipping, and customer service.
How much do vendors earn?
You set your own prices. Your royalty is the customer price minus the base printing cost and a small platform fee. Most vendors earn 40-60% of the sale price. You can see exact earnings before listing.
When do vendors get paid?
Vendor earnings are tracked in real-time on your dashboard. Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect on a regular schedule. You can view your earnings and payout history in your vendor dashboard.
Do I need to handle shipping or customer service?
No! We handle everything — printing, quality control, shipping, and customer service. You focus on creating great designs.
Color & Print Quality
Will the printed colors match what I see on my screen?
No. Printed colors will not match your screen. This is not a defect — it is a fundamental limitation of all DTF printing. Your screen displays colors using RGB light, while DTF uses CMYK inks. These are completely different color systems with different ranges. Some colors you see on screen simply cannot be reproduced in print. We do not offer refunds or reprints for color differences between your screen and the printed product.
Do you offer Pantone (PMS) color matching?
No. DTF printing uses a digital CMYK process that cannot reproduce Pantone spot colors. You can include hex codes or Pantone references in your gang sheet order notes and we will get as close as possible, but an exact match is not possible with DTF. If you require exact Pantone color matching, screen printing is the only option.
Will my repeat order look the same as my first order?
Not necessarily. Colors can and will shift between production runs due to ink batch changes, film coating variations, and environmental factors. This is normal across the entire DTF industry. If you need consistent colors across multiple items, order everything in a single order so they are printed in the same batch.
What file format gives the best color results?
Submit your designs in RGB color mode, sRGB color space, at 300 DPI, saved as PNG with a transparent background. Our professional RIP software handles the color conversion optimally — do not convert to CMYK yourself. See our RGB vs CMYK Guide for detailed tips.
Why do some colors look duller when printed?
Neon, fluorescent, and extremely vivid colors often fall outside the CMYK printable range (gamut). These colors will shift toward the nearest reproducible shade. Earth tones, pastels, and standard brand colors reproduce very accurately.
